Angela Evelyn Bassett has been an American actress since late 1980s. She has been recognized by the media and for her television performances since the early 1980s. Her accolades include the two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and raised by an aunt living in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett relocated with her older sister St. Petersburg Florida at age five in order so that they could be near their mom, who was separated from her father. Bassett was in high school when she was able to see James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck in the play Of Mice and Men and knew that her dream of becoming an actor had been born. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and an advanced degree (1983), from the Yale School of Drama. While at Yale she met Courtney B. Vance a co-actor and they married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. Degree in African-American Studies in 1981. Masters of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Jordan Park Elementary School Disston Middle School (7th grade), Azalea Middle School (8th and 9th grade), Boca Ciega High School. Angela Bassett plays Ramonda as one of the major parts in the action film i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
